E-commerce platform for SMEs lands in Saudi Arabia
The e-commerce platform was formed under the 9/10ths program, a government initiative under the Human Resources Development Fund.

Tojjar is a newly launched e-commerce platform designed to help small businesses and entrepreneurs boost their business online.

Tojjar is available as a website and a mobile app and offers products and services, including children's toys, handcrafts, art, food, fashion and health and beauty.

To date, 1,300 businesses have registered and through the service businesses are able to organise delivery and payment and marketing options.

Speaking to the Saudi Gazette, Dr. Taghreed Alsarraj said: "It's important to support entrepreneurship since it creates more employment for youth and relies less on the government to provide jobs."

The e-commerce platform was formed under the 9/10ths program, a government initiative under the Human Resources Development Fund. The program also aims to connect start-ups to freelancers and companies, as well as connect SMEs to government contracts.

Alsarraj added: "The government is now reviving a new ecosystem for entrepreneurship under the Vision 2030."
