Trimble unveils latest releases of Tekla platform
Three new versions of its software has been releases, designed specifically for structural engineering, fabrication and construction teams
As part of its ongoing development of its Tekla Building Information Modelling (BIM) solutions, Trimble has just released three new versions of its software.
Catering to the needs of structural engineering, fabrication and construction teams, Trimble's latest releases include Tekla Structures 2017, Tekla Structural Designer 2017 and Tekla Tedds 2017.
Tackling the different aspects of a structure's engineering, specifically the concrete, precast concrete fabrication, and steel detailing processes, Tekla Structures 2017 introduces a number of tools to give users more control over creating an accurate structural model in a timely fashion.
For example, in terms of concrete, the updated software is now equipped with a novel reinforcement method that allows users more flexibility in overseeing reinforcements for different types of concrete geometries.
As an analysis and design software, Tekla Structural Designer 2017 streamlines the design process and introduces several new features addressing A&D workflow productivity. Additionally, the update to the software adds design functionalities for common foundations typical in steel and concrete structures.
Lastly, Tekla Tedds 2017 takes aim at improving engineering productivity and quality through the automation of structural and civil calculations, an area that has traditionally been prone to human error.
Jari Heino, general manager of Trimble's Structures Division, said: "In these new Tekla versions, we focus on improving communication and modelling methods because these are directly tied to the productivity of core tasks within large workgroups and projects.
"The software provides a variety of completely new tools for users to expand their scope of work and collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure that the entire team is on the same page."
