Seagate Technology appoints new senior vice president
Kate Schuelke is also chief legal officer and corporate secretary, and will oversee the Global Security and Government Relations Teams at the company
Seagate Technology, a maker of storage solutions, has appointed Kate Schuelke as the as senior vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary, reporting to CEO and Chairman Steve Luczo.
Schuelke brings more than 25 years of experience to Seagate, having most recently served as the senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Altera Corporation.
"Kate's global experience, deep understanding of the technology industry and excellent legal insights are critical to Seagate's success going forward," said Luczo. "I'm very pleased she has joined our leadership team and I look forward to the many contributions I know she will make to Seagate."
Schuelke's expertise includes intellectual property law, corporate governance, litigation, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial transactions. Earlier in her career, Schuelke held several positions of increasing responsibility at major law firms both domestically and internationally, and was a Fulbright Scholar lecturer on US intellectual property (IP) law while overseas.
In addition to her role as chief legal officer, Schuelke is also responsible for Seagate's Global Security and Government Relations teams.
She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Buffalo and received her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law.
