New partner for Clyde & Co technology practice
Dino Wilkinson joins technology, media and telecoms practice of law firm
Clyde & Co has appointed Dino Wilkinson as Partner in its Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The law firm said that the new appointment was in response to growing demand in the technology field, especially in relation to government initiatives and cybersecurity.
Wilkinson was previously with Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was a commercial lawyer specialising in the TMT sector, advising on technology law and contracts, outsourcing, procurement, data protection and cyber risk issues.
Wilkinson has been based in Abu Dhabi since 2010, but has been advising clients in the Middle East for more than ten years. He has built a substantial technology and commercial practice in the UAE and has developed strong connections as relationship partner for significant public sector entities and corporate clients. He is one of a handful of Band 1 TMT lawyers in the Middle East legal directories.
Joycia Young, Partner at Clyde & Co's office in Dubai, commented: "There is a new wave of IP, technology and media work in the region, from government initiatives focusing on internal efficiencies to increasing awareness of data and cyber risk from both public and private sector clients. Dino will provide the necessary expertise and commitment to capitalise on these growth areas and will allow our broader IP and commercial practice to expand locally and across the GCC."
Dino Wilkinson said: "I am looking forward to matching my Iocal experience, ambition and enthusiasm with a firm that recognises the opportunity for technology in the UAE and the wider Middle East. The strength of Clyde & Co's offering in the region provides the perfect platform to complement and develop my practice."
Clyde & Co has been advising TMT clients with region specific and highly commercial advice in the Middle East for over 15 years, supporting a variety of internationally renowned technology manufacturers, media companies and end users, on technology development, procurement, outsourcing and licensing, and on the associated issues arising in the operation of their businesses in the MENA region.
