MOHAP launches employee ideas portal

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has launched a new idea platform to encourage employees to propose suggestions to improve and develop services.

The ‘Afkari' platform, which is available through the internal and external MOHAP portals, is an online suggestion system that allows employees to submit their own ideas for enhancing the organization. MOHAP will facilitate and implement the best ideas that will help to develop its services and achieve customer and employee happiness.

HE Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health & Prevention, said that Afkari will support the Ministry's efforts to to promote institutional excellence and innovation, in line with the National Innovation Strategy, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Afkari is a world-class idea management hub, which will unleash the potential ideas of employees, he added.

Al Owais said that he hoped that the platform will empower MOHAP employees to share their ideas to support innovation and excellence. MOHAP considers Afkari to be an idea incubator and a platform to launch a variety of idea management solutions such as ideas campaigns, he said. The Afkari platform will provide the necessary support for R&D and prototyping and allow high impact projects to develop towards creating value, enhancing our productivity and service excellence for a happier community.

HE Dr Mohammed Al- Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry, noted that MOHAP is keen to encourage its employees to adopt a culture of innovation, and suggest innovative ideas that face current and future challenges. MOHAP also aims to become a leading and innovative ministry that will enhance the happiness of customers and stakeholders, by supporting ideas and encourage and honour the best suggestions and innovations periodically

The Ministry has adopted and developed assessment criteria for its employee recognition scheme, ‘Ideal employee Prize', that takes into account the number of suggestions and innovations provided by the employee as a step in support of the Ministry's leadership directions to establish innovation in the work environment.

Dr. Ayesha Al Mutawa, Director of Strategy and Future Dept - Chief Innovation Officer at MOHAP, declared that the new platform is developed based on the latest and best practices in the field of idea and innovations management systems.
