DESC signs MoU with University of Dubai for cybersecurity
Agreement will promote cybersecurity R&D and education to build UAE security capabilities
Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) has signed an agreement with University of Dubai to promote research in information security, telecoms and information systems.
The new MoU aims to strengthen the UAE's capabilities in cybersecurity and to encourage individuals to develop careers in this field.
The partnership, which was signed by HE Yousuf Hamad Al Shaibani, Chief Executive Director of DESC and HE Dr Essa Mohammed Al Bastaki, Director of University of Dubai, will also support Dubai's new cybersecurity strategy which aims to position Dubai as a leader in this sector
Based on the MoU, both parties will work together to raise the level of awareness in the various fields of cyber security by providing the necessary consultation and training content for holding workshops and seminars, as well as organizing events to spread scientific awareness in cyber security.
Dubai University will foster innovation in cyber security and related areas including digital forensics, cloud computing, data science, Internet security and open source software security, and create new opportunities for R&D in those fields.
HE Dr Essa Mohammed Al Bastaki said: "Dubai Electronic Security Center is one of the leading centres in the UAE and is responsible for the implementation of electronic security based on international standards, as well as cooperation with the competent authorities in the field of cyber security."
