Arrow wants channel partners to take advantage of the opportunities that are emerging as organisations rollout digital transformation initiatives.

Regional value-added distributor (VAD), Arrow ECS, has said it utilised this year's Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC), to highlight the need for organisations to secure their digital assets.

The VAD, which showcased IT security solutions from RSA, CheckPoint, McAfee, ForcePoint and Trend Micro, said as organisations across the Middle East focus on digital transformation initiatives, it's vital for solution providers to help their customers secure their assets.

Vimal Kocher, managing director, Arrow ECS, said IT security in the Middle East is receiving a lot of attention as targeted threats have increased over the last 12 months.

Kocher said as a result, Arrow is also looking at strengthening its portfolio so that the company can have a full-fledged security array to meet today's IT threats. "Due to the digital transformation that is happening in the Middle East, cyber security management has taken on a whole new meaning for the whole IT industry in the region," he said. "We were at GISEC to ensure that the solutions we have in our security portfolio are showcased and promoted to both channel partners and customers. We believe that there is a synergy between IT security and the digital transformation that organisations have embarked on in the region."

He added that Arrow together with its vendor partners is urging partners to take advantage of the opportunities that are emerging as a result of this transformation. "As we continue to strengthen our security portfolio, we want to see partners embrace a solutions approach to IT selling. We believe that it's through such a method that partners will be able to earn higher margins and develop the much needed consultative skills," he said.

Kocher said because the threat landscape is changing rapidly, providing IT security using the traditional ways is no longer enough. "IT protection has had to evolve hence an intelligence-led approach to security is what customers need," he said. "Arrow continues to provide training to its channel partners and if need be to end user customers on behalf of our channel partners."

He said the company will continue to augment its security solutions as IT threats and attacks become more sophisticated. "The cybersecurity landscape is a constantly changing environment, and enterprises are under tremendous pressure to deploy multilayer and comprehensive security strategies to keep up with the evolving IT security landscape," Kocher added.

He explained that Arrow's goal at GISEC 2017 was to enable solution partners to understand, execute and deploy comprehensive security solutions across a spectrum of delivery platforms, from data and endpoint security, threat prevention, and security analytics, to automated security and monitoring solutions.

Kocher reiterated that sound information security management often involves people, processes, and technologies. "It takes everyone, from the CEO to front-end employees in the organisation to adopt daily security practices to prevent, detect and respond to potential security challenges," he noted.
