CommScope’s launches high speed migration platform
Data centre mangers will be able to manage large volumes of data, as well as the projected growth in bandwidth over the next few years.
CommScope, a specialist in communication network infrastructure technologies, has announced the launch of a High Speed Migration platform.
The new platform is designed to help data centre managers in devising faster and more flexible, high-density migration plans. The company's High Speed Migration portfolio is designed for both duplex and parallel applications, and supports higher speeds and emerging applications.
John Schmidt, vice president of Global Data Center Solutions at CommScope, said: "With our High Speed Migration solutions, we're able to help data centre managers accelerate the growth of their DC capacity and the speed of their digital transformation initiatives.
"We are quickly moving from 10Gb/s and 40Gb/s to 100Gb/s, 400Gb/s and beyond. The more data consumers and network users need, the more services they expect, the more critical speed becomes. This is a global phenomenon and one of the top challenges that data centre managers will face."
Features of the new platform include options for MPO connectivity, which includes 24-fiber, 12-fiber and 8-fiber support, as well the use of fibre optic panels, ultra and high-density variants that in turn simplify the operation of duplex and parallel ports.
Additionally, CommScope's High Speed Migration platform boasts, LazrSPEED WideBand OM5, part of the company's SYSTIMAX portfolio, as well as Ultra-Low Loss (ULL) performance. The High Speed Migration platform also includes imVIsioin, an automated infrastructure management system.
Commenting on how the need for speed will soon challenge network and network providers, Jennifer Cooke, research director in IDC's Datacenter Trends and Strategies group, shared: "Preparing to meet this challenge requires not only investment, but a strategy and vision to transition when and where resources are needed.
"CommScope's high-speed migration services meet a critical need in the market by providing a bridge between current and future demand and supporting a strategic vision for data centre and network transformation," she added.
