Honor, the e-brand smartphone by Huawei, recently unveiled the Honor 8 Lite, the brand’s latest launch under the flagship Honor 8 series.

Under the motto “Beauty at your reach”, the budget-friendly Honor 8 Lite follows the launch of Honor 8 last summer.

“Honor is dedicated to creating devices that match our millennial users’ lifestyles and unique personalities. Following the success of honor 8, we saw an opportunity for the introduction of a lighter version of the device that opens up the market for more users to gain access to both visual appeal and strong performance features at a budget price point,” said Chris Sun Baigong, vice president Huawei honor Middle East CBG.

Huawei says the Honor 8 Lite design is inspired by the mesmerising landscapes of the Antelope Canyon in Arizona, and offers dual 2.5D curved glass display and brushed metal exterior. It is slim at 7.6mm with chamfered edges to provide a more comfortable grip.

Honor 8 Lite’s cameras an 8MP front camera boasting a 77° wide angle lens, coupled with an enhanced selfie mode, designed to help users take flawless selfies no matter the surroundings. Its 12MP rear camera with 1.25μm pixels and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), delivers a fast focus speed of just 0.3 seconds.

The device is powered by a Kirin 655 Octa-Core CPU, 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, and equipped with a 16GB of internal storage expandable to 128GB.

The Honor 8 Lite runs on Huawei’s proprietary EMUI 5.0 interface featuring an intelligent learning system, designed to optimise performance by allocating resources according to users’ needs and prioritizing apps based on users’ behaviour over time. The result is a better user experience overall, with 90% of the general applications accessible in 3 steps or less.

The Honor 8 Lite has a large 3000mAh battery with a high energy density of 650WHL. This is coupled with a Smart Power 5.0 system, which optimizes battery consumption and a 16nm intelligent chip-level power saving technology, for longer operation.

The Honor 8 Lite has been launched in four colours: blue, black, gold and white. The device is available for purchase as of 1st of March across the Middle East.
