DEWA achieves Innovation Management System certification
DEWA qualifies for European certificate for institutional innovation management
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has qualified for the European Specification Certificate on Innovation Management Systems (CEN / TS 16555-1-2013), for its innovation management system.
The certification, which was assessed by Lloyds Register, is based on defining standards of managing innovation on an institutional level, based on the nature of the institution's work, its strategies, and management systems.
DEWA has implemented a number of innovation programs, including a centralised innovation portal, MyDEWAideas, where staff can share ideas and suggestions and vote, comment and collaborate on contributions.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA commented: "DEWA's efforts in the field of innovation are consistent with the wise leadership's efforts to look ahead and prepare for the future. This includes efforts to achieve the National Innovation Strategy, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform the UAE into one of the most innovative countries by 2021.

Receiving this certificate, reflects our commitment to adopting innovation to overcome challenges and transforming them into opportunities to develop world-class services to achieve the happiness and satisfaction of the community, while ensuring a brighter and more sustainable future for generations to come," he added.
