Equinix talks digital transformation with CIOs
During the CIO 100 Awards and Forum 2017, Equinix discussed the Interconnection Oriented Architecture
Global data centre company, Equinix, hosted a roundtable titled "Digital is Here and Now, Forcing Businesses to Transform", with CIOs to discuss digital transformation solutions across the MENA region.
At the CIO 100 Awards and Forum 2017, Jeroen Schlosser, managing director at Equinix MENA and Klaas Merten, global solution architect at Equinix addressed the readiness of MENA business sector to seize the opportunity in digital transformation.
At the roundtable, Equinix discussed the Interconnection Oriented Architecture - an approach connecting people, locations and how it can help MENA businesses to embrace digitisation.
"The digital economy is forcing enterprises to transform how they connect customers, partners, employees and operations, especially in the MENA region where businesses are taking a ‘digital-first' approach across all vertical markets. What businesses require is a re-architecture of the IT platform, to be able to react in real time and adapt quickly to change, while securely connecting employees, partners and customers within a digital ecosystem," said Schlosser
Merten added: "To respond to the increasing trend of digitisation, businesses need to change the way they deliver IT services; to address digital, IT architecture will need to be inverted to bring apps and data closer to the users. Equinix has addressed this topic by inviting participation from Chief Information Officers (CIOs) from some of the biggest companies in the region and stimulate a healthy discussion on the challenges, opportunities and way forward for IT."
