D2L expands footprint in Middle East and Africa
Learning technology provider to accelerate its growth in the region through new resellers
D2L, a company which has helped transform learning for people all over the world, has announced a plan to expand its presence in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
The global learning technology provider is now set to scale up its regional footprint after increasing its presence in the region last year with a dedicated office in Dubai.
The creator of the Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS) has started adding new resellers to meet the market's growing needs for smart learning technology.
"The Brightspace platform, with its ease-of-use, competency-based learning and cloud-based infrastructure delivers a better learning experience to users, and has the potential to take education in the Middle East and Africa to the next level. Our mission is to transform the way the world learns, and we expect 2017 to be a year of continued growth for us in the region," said Hanny Alshazly, regional director, MEA at D2L.
D2L is currently providing its Brightspace LMS to high-profile academic institutions within the region such as Umm Al-Qura University in Saudi Arabia, Ankabut in the UAE and University College of Bahrain, to name a few.
The tech provider said it is now increasing its resellers in the region to include integrated information technology and service solution providers International Turnkey Systems (ITS) and Regional Valley for Technology and Innovation (REVALTON), in addition to knowledge solutions provider Arabian Advanced Systems (Naseej).
Ahmed Shaaban, CEO, REVALTON, added that: "The Middle East and Africa region is seeing a new breed of empowered learners who want a more engaged and smarter learning experience. Technology providers such as D2L can meet this shift in demand capably and cost-effectively. We are delighted to add D2L's Brightspace LMS to our portfolio of innovative solutions."
"We are excited to partner up with D2L. The company's award-winning Brightspace LMS helps modernise the educational experience and improve learning outcomes. We are known in the market for our cutting-edge IT solutions, and we believe the Brightspace platform will augment our set of solutions," said Muawiya Abu Jubain, COO, ITS.
Available in fourteen different languages including English, Arabic, French, Turkish and Portuguese, the Brightspace LMS is well aligned with the MEA region's diverse language requirements. D2L has recently selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its strategic public cloud infrastructure provider, thereby continuing its reliability, security and availability.
