TP-Link unveils SMB products in Saudi Arabia

Networking vendor teams up with Redington Gulf to host KSA SMB partner roadshow

TP-Link Technologies Co Ltd, a global provider of SOHO, SMB networking products and wireless LAN solutions, recently launched its SMB portfolio of products to systems integrators (SIs) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

According to the company, the launch of SMB products is part of the company's plan to promote and raise awareness of its offerings in this sector to SIs in the KSA market. The vendor added that the SMB roadshow was held in Riyadh in partnership with distribution partner Redington Gulf.

Conrad Yang, country manager, TP-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said the company decided to team up with Redington Gulf to introduce to SI partners in KSA the company's latest offerings in the SMB segment. "We introduced the SMB range of products in the Middle East earlier in 2016 and have throughout the year been running roadshows throughout the GCC and North Africa to raise awareness within the SI space," he said. "We believe that it's important to promote the SMB products as most channel partners know TP-Link for its SOHO and consumer products."

Yang said the Riyadh SMB roadshow saw more than 80 SIs attend and the company is planning to have similar roadshows in Jeddah and Khobar in the first quarter of 2017. "Together with Redington Gulf, we are working relentless to grow the share of TP-Link's SMB business in the Saudi market," he said. "We have a very positive outlook and pipeline on the SI market in KSA as we see lots of projects coming online in 2017, which will open up opportunities for channel partners."

Yang explained that TP-Link's approach to engaging SIs is slightly different as the company is seeking to work with partners that currently don't do business with it.

Mohammed Fazi, product manager, Redington Gulf, added that it was important to support TP-Link as a vendor partner at the first SMB roadshow in Saudi Arabia.

Fazi said the aim of the roadshow was to achieve two things: raise awareness of TP-Link's SMB array with SIs based in Saudi Arabia and to develop strategies on how to acquire more market share from other networking brands, as most of the SIs were not aware of the vendor's SMB product portfolio.

"It was a great event and most of the SIs were satisfied with the presentations and the broad range of products that TP-Link has in this segment," he added.

Fazi said given that this was the first SMB roadshow that TP-Link and Redington Gulf have conducted together in KSA, the feedback from partners was so positive and encouraging. "We supported TP-Link with the first event and look forward to rolling out similar events in other provinces in the Kingdom to raise awareness and engage the right SI partners going forward," he said.
