Samsung to showcase capabilities of Galaxy S7 edge, Gear VR and Gear 360 at film event
Samsung is showcasing the capabilities of its mobile ecosystem at the 13th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) that is taking place until 14th December.
Attendees of the gala screening will be able to take 360° videos of themselves at Samsung’s 360 Style Icon booth. The booth spanning 3m X 3.5m will have a robot arm that will rotate all around the subject while stitching together the 360° video. On posting the video under the curated hashtag #SamsungxDIFF, participants will enter a contest where their outfits will be judged by a panel of judges. Samsung Style Icon winner will be featured in leading fashion magazines in luxury photoshoots including designer brands.
Tarek Sabbagh, Head of IT and Mobile (IM) Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics commented, “Virtual reality is increasingly being adopted by filmmakers to add another layer to the cinematic experience. Through our presence at DIFF, we are showcasing the technology to both industry players and film enthusiasts at the same time on a global platform.”
A dedicated VR Cinema in collaboration with du will also be present at the stand. The ‘du VR Cinema- powered by Samsung’ will have 20 chairs, Gear VR units and headphones. Cinema enthusiasts will be able to buy tickets to a selection of VR-optimized movies at the space. The stand will also have a complimentary VR zone where visitors can experience a range of virtual roller coasters. Other innovations including the all-new Gear S3 and the 2016 range of SUHD TVs will also be on display at the stand.
