Veeam Software, a technology company specialised in Availability for the Always-On Enterprise, has announced the global availability of Veeam Availability Suite 9.5.

Serving as the company's flagship offering, Veeam Availability Platform for the Hybrid Cloud, the latest version offers over 175 new features, designed specifically for improving agility and flexibility of IT infrastructures.

Commenting on the latest release, Peter McKay, President and COO at Veeam, shared: "Veeam Availability Suite has always been at the leading-edge of innovation, and as enterprises embrace a more virtualized, cloud-first era, our approach to 24.7.365 Availability is becoming the standard-bearer for the market."

He added: "As the amount of data and number of cloud workloads continues to grow at exponential rates, I am proud that with Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 we are dramatically enhancing our enterprise scalability to protect tens of thousands of VMs and petabytes of data."

According to the latest IDC research, data protection strategies are no longer able to meet the dynamic needs of fast-moving cloud business models. They are also proving to be quite costly with the average cost of downtime for the typical enterprise exceeding $100,000 per hour.

IDC also reported that compared to other providers, Veeam provides companies the tools needed to better manage their workloads and even become more aggressive on SLAs for larget sets of workloads.
