Samy: Arbor’s multilayered platform provides protection from DDos attacks.

Exhibiting on the NetScout stand at GITEX Technology Week, Arbor is the company’s security arm, providing multilayered protection against DDos attacks, which are intended to crash the mission-critical network of enterprises such as governments, banks, online retailers and airlines.

“ DDos attacks are a specific threat, the purpose of which is to crash the networks of the targeted company, this is done by sending hundreds of thousands of botnets at the network in a coordinated attack that overwhelms the network,” explains Mahmoud Samy, regional director, Middle East & Russia, Arbor Networks.

“We protect against DDos attacks with a multilayered platform that provides protection for the end-user, the service provider, and the cloud. It’s a layered approach and all of these layers needs a platform that provides visibility to show that they’re under attack, and provides the tools to counterattack these attacks,” he adds.

Etisalat is one of Arbor’s largest partners, making its security solutions available to end-users in the B2B space. “If an organisation is under attack, they can inform Etisalat and immediate action will be taken, this is why we have partnered with local service providers,” says Samy.
