Redington positions itself as a transformation catalyst

Keeping in line with the company tagline, Redington Value is focusing on ‘catalysing transformation’ at GITEX Technology Week 2016. Ramkumar Balakrishnan, president, Redington Value Distribution says: “Basically the whole industry is transforming from a traditional model of consuming IT to an OPEX centric model driven by cloud consumption. This demands channel partners to transform their role from that of an integrator to a service provider. There is a need for the partners to talk solutions instead of products. They also need to build new financial models, new go-to-market strategies and new consulting capabilities. The driving force of Redington’s whole journey and specifically in GITEX is to come out with lots of initiatives to help the channel to transform.”
Redington Value has announced a new consulting arm, called Uniplum, which will focus on providing pure play consulting services to channel partners on cloud transformation, big data and IoT. Ramkumar says this is the first-of-its-kind initiative in the whole region.
In addition, the company has also set up its own multi-vendor footprint solution briefing centre, called RedVault. The centre also features a futuristic see-through touch panel to showcase solutions from the various vendors in Redington’s portfolio.
