Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), has unveiled a set of new services and applications to create an outstanding experience for visitors to the city.
Among the new offerings for tourists that are on show at GITEX Technology Week are Dubai Calendar, Visit Dubai app, Dubai360 Virtual Reality experience, and a new paperless inspection system.
Dubai Calendar, an app and web platform which lists events happening in Dubai, has now been streamlined and updated, to allow users to purchase event tickets directly in-app, along with integration with Google Maps and push notifications.
The DUBAI360 Virtual Reality experience, which recently generated considerable interest as part of a large experiential activation in London’s Waterloo Station, uses the latest in VR technology to promote Dubai. The experience includes a three-minute clip which virtually transports people to the top of the Burj Khalifa, immediately followed by a thrilling motorbike ride over desert dunes, a deep dive into the Dubai Aquarium, a glance at one of Dubai’s beautiful beaches and a plunge into the warm waters of the Arabian Gulf for a myriad of water sports.
Also featured at GITEX is Dubai Tourism’s new smart inspection system, which equips inspectors with a mobile device for filing inspection reports on tourism establishments in the city to eliminate paper.
