GITEX Technology Week 2016, F5 Networks is focused on promoting its solutions for the cloud, as well as its latest enhancements to its security capabilities. On the cloud front, the application delivery networking specialist has partnered with a number of SDN vendors and incorporated a number of cloud networking technology and service providers, such as ACI, Openstack and AWS, to compile an extensive cloud solution portfolio.
From the security side, F5 has added a number of improvements to its web application firewall, a key focus area for the region, as well as adding anti-fraud capabilities ideally suited for financial institutions, as well as e-commerce and services related to Bitcoin.
“Also on the security front which is focused on the cloud, we have a DDoS solution called Silverline. It is a cloud-based DDoS service … if some customers are hosting their applications within the cloud itself, we help them protect those applications from DDoS attacks,” explains Tabrez Surve regional head of security sales for META at F5 Networks.
Commenting on the value of GITEX, Surve highlights the annual technology show as one of F5’s key events globally, hailing the visibility and brand awareness that the event provides. “The primary focus is meeting customers. We have 100 set meetings with CIOs and CISOs, [in] the next four days at GITEX,” he concludes.
