Smart Dubai Government Establishment (SDG), the technology arm of Smart Dubai, the city-wide initiative to transform Dubai into the world’s smartest city, revealed a landmark agreement with Dell EMC to create an integrated technology foundation and transform it into an agile digital shared service provider.

In its collaboration with SDG, Dell EMC’s has deployed its Enterprise Hybrid Cloud platform to establish an IT-as-a-Service infrastructure. This will allow provision of ICT infrastructure to government entities, consequently allowing those entities to provision innovative new services for individuals and organisations across Dubai.

Driving smart initiatives to enhance the service delivery and optimise resources across all government entities in Dubai required a platform that could deliver accelerated growth and maintain quality of service, explained Wesam Lootah, CEO, Smart Dubai Government Establishment (SDG). “Dell EMC’s Enterprise Hybrid Cloud delivers a rigorously tested, fully engineered platform, offering the business agility we need to automate secure self-service infrastructure services across our different lines of business and stakeholders.”

“Assuming the role of a trusted advisor in delivering a smart, innovation-backed city is a matter of great pride for us,” said Habib Mahakian, vice president, Gulf & Pakistan, Dell EMC. “We thank the SDG for sharing its futuristic ambitions with us and allowing us to introduce a unified vision of IT within the government.”
