IDC names VMware Airwatch as largest EMM vendor for 2015
This marks the second consecutive year that VMware Airwatch was recognised by the global analyst firm.
VMware Airwatch recently announced that it was recognised by IDC as the largest enterprise mobility management vendor for 2015.
According to figures produced by the global analyst firm, Airwatch market share for 2015, grew by an impressive 83.8% over 2014.
Furthermore, it maintained the largest percentage market share amongst the top 14 EMM vendors, IDC reporting 16.5% in 2015.
Noah Wasmer, senior vice president, mobile products, End-User Computing, VMware, said: "This report is an incredible validation of our product innovation, global scale and commitment to our customers' successful mobile initiatives."
He added: "Our digital workspace strategy and commitment to delivering the most comprehensive EMM solution enabled us to outpace market growth and maintain our number one position. We are honored by this distinction from IDC as recognition of our leadership."
Further findings from IDC showed that AirWatch underwent phenomenal growth over 2015, expanding by nearly 84%, while the EMM market increased by less than 30%.
IDC's research highlighted the correlation between Airwatch's success, alongside its integration with VMware, the unified VMware End-User Computing strategy and VMware's acquiring of Boxer email.
The advent of Internet-of-Things (IoT) use cases and VMware's channel and partner base, were additional contributing factors to Airwatch's success story, according to IDC.
