Al Manhal launches Arabic bookstore app
The Al Manhal app ties in the Arab Reading Challenge to make 2016 the year of Arabic reading
Al Manhal, electronic information provider for Arabic content, has announced the arrival of its Arabic e-Bookstore application for iOS.
The application combines functionality and convenience, enabling book lovers around the world to access thousands of Arabic e-books.
Al Manhal CEO Mohamad Al Baghdadi stated: "The introduction of Al Manhal iOS bookstore application further strengthens the company's position as the leading full-text searchable Arabic information provider by giving our customers and users more options for interacting with our educational offerings."
The app provides an option that enables patrons from institutional libraries with an active subscription to Al Manhal databases, to freely access their favorite titles offline, on their iPhones or iPads. The technology enables readers to build their own library, in order to create adaptable browsing and reader experience like never before.
The range of e-book offerings include art, business, economics, architecture and design, Islamic banking and finance, Islamic studies, political science and international relations, history, geography and biography, educational science and human and social sciences.
The announcement comes in line with "Arab Reading Challenge", which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, making 2016 the year of Arabic reading.
The challenge encourages students in the Arab world to read, and already it has more than million students committing to read 50m extracurricular books during every academic year.
