VMware gets new vice president
Jean-Phillipe Barleaza to lead channel and alliances in EMEA
Virtualisation solutions major VMware Inc, has announced the appointment of Jean-Phillipe Barleaza as vice president, Channel and Alliances and General Business in EMEA.
A key member of the EMEA channel team since joining VMware in 2007, Barleaza has been acting vice president in the role since October 2015.
WMware said in the new role, Barleaza is responsible for defining strategy and managing the company's EMEA partner ecosystems, driving VMware's innovative cloud and business mobility solutions to help partners, OEMs, SISOs and solution providers differentiate their businesses and drive profitability.
The vendor said Barleaza reports to Jean-Pierre Brulard, senior vice president and general manager VMware EMEA.
"Jean-Philippe has a proven track record working with our partners in EMEA to drive adoption of the software-defined data centre, unified hybrid cloud and end-user computing solutions, and is a natural choice to now lead all our partner and channel operations in the region," said Brulard. "Jean-Philippe has a real passion and ability for understanding how our partners can embrace VMware's technologies to help their customers drive their digital transformation, while deriving commercial success for their businesses."
Prior to taking up this role, Barleaza was senior director OEMs, SI-SOs and Service Providers in EMEA until October 2015. Before joining VMware, he held senior channel positions covering southern Europe at both NetApp and Computer Associates.
"VMware is a unique organisation within the industry with a world-class partner network," added Barleaza. "I am looking forward to continuing to collaborate with our partners to help our customers solve IT challenges and drive further success in the mobile-cloud era."
