Gulf Air picks up five ISO certifications
Company becomes first airline in the world to achieve certifications in five areas
Gulf Air, Bahrain's national carrier, recently became the first airline in the world to gain ISO certifications in five areas.
The areas include quality management, environmental management, service management, information security management, and energy management.
Following a recent internal and external audit conducted by RINA Services, a certification body, the airline was awarded the ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certifications for environmental management and energy management, respectively. The airline also picked up, for the second year in a row, the ISO 9001 certification for quality management and the ISO 20000 certification for service management.
Gulf Air was also awarded the ISO 27001 certification for information security management for the third year in a row.
"I'm delighted with our achievement. At Gulf Air, we effectively deliver superior quality, service and security while maintaining focus on our impact on the environment. Gulf Air continually strives to safeguard and enhance these areas across the organisation - including our information technology offering - critical to ensuring customer satisfaction," said Gulf Air CEO Maher Salman AlMusallam.
Dr Jassim Haji, director of IT at Gulf Air, added: "We are pleased to achieve yet another ‘first' in our information technology offering, and pleased to be recognised for our team's work in further helping to achieve customer satisfaction. Such certifications enable us to guarantee the highest level of IT services excellence, which has a direct positive influence on the end-user and passenger experience."
