Rabdan Academy, UAE-based institution for vocational training services that cover the safety, security, defence and emergency preparedness sectors, has appointed Visionaire as its ICT solutions provider to deploy a comprehensive ICT network at its new Excellence Learning Centre in Abu Dhabi mostly using Huawei Network products.

The deployment includes a fully integrated AV and ICT infrastructure, and will allow both staff and students enjoy faster connectivity and a streamlined secure access to the Academy’s education tools.

Commenting on the ICT implementation, Khamis Awadh Abulani, ICT Advisor for Rabdan Academy said: “Rabdan Academy is a believer in excellence in education through technology with a mission to drive future-class student learning experiences with innovation. We are therefore pleased to have worked with Visionaire and Huawei to create new ways of enhancing learning at our new Excellence Learning Centre in Abu Dhabi, with the introduction of their leading ICT network solutions, and the latest in classroom technology.”

Huawei has worked closely with Visionaire and Rabdan Academy to complete the implementation of its solutions at the institutions Learning Centre in the UAE, the company said.

Terry He, President of Huawei Enterprise Middle East said: “In an increasingly digital age, many educators are taking steps to deploy an ICT infrastructure based on campus wide networks that are agile and can easily accommodate new service requests on demand. This has been a prevalent trend in the UAE in light of its Smart City vision to develop the country into a digital knowledge economy. Being involved in this collaboration with Rabdan Academy is an important part of Huawei’s commitment to enriching the region’s education sector and building a better society through sharing knowledge and ICT expertise.”

Huawei has been working to modernise learning and development through several education solutions rolled out in the Middle East, such as the deployment of its Cloud Virtual Desktop (VDI) solution in 35 training colleges at Technical Vocation and Training Corporation (TVTC) in Saudi Arabia. The solution has since been able to help the educational institute create seamless integration between college applications and help reduce IT maintenance costs by reducing the level of power consumption by 80% and less need for hardware investment, Huawei said.

Aneeta Gupta, President and CEO of Visionaire said: “In every aspect of our design, we took into consideration Rabdan’s technology mission to pursue effective ways for learning spaces to be enhanced for better collaboration. Other than working with Huawei on the network infrastructure and its subsystems, we have provided the complete end-to end ICT and AV solutions for Rabdan including video conferencing, wireless media collaboration systems, lecture recording, room signage and schedule, and control systems. I can say that the ICT design at Rabdan marks the success of the integrated future of AV and IT.”

Rabdan Academy is a strategic initiative of Tawazun, a UAE based Investment Company focused on specialized manufacturing in the defence sector. In 2013, Huawei had created a secure network environment to support Tawazun’s growth. This included the deployment of a smart campus networking solution based on IPv6 in its integrated manufacturing zone at Tawazun Industrial Park (TIP), to create a backbone infrastructure that enables seamless wired and wireless connectivity, a highly secured network and higher bandwidth to centrally manage and monitor its physical security. The project was the first IPv6 network solution to be deployed in the Middle East for the industrial, manufacturing and defence sectors.
