Rashad: GITEX is a platform.

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the Egyptian agency responsible for developing the IT industry in the country, is exhibiting at GITEX Technology Week with an Egyptian pavilion, intended to help members reach the GCC market.

“We’re mainly responsible for developing the local companies’ abilities to export to global markets and grow the local market,” says Maha Rashad, Marketing & Communication Director, ITIDA.

“GITEX is a platform to reach out to one of the primary markets for ITIDA and its members, the GCC is a hugely important export market for all five sectors in which we’re active,” Rashad adds.

This year is the first time that ITIDA is exhibiting all five of the sectors it represents: digital marketing, cloud, enterprise software, telecom and mobile.

ITIDA has recently conducted a study where itfound that 80% of Egyptian IT exports were directed towards the Gulf Co-Operation Council market.

ITIDA this year has three platinum sponsors and three gold sponsors. Platinum sponsors include ABC Technology and Hoi Mea in telecommunications and United consultants for integrated solutions - enterprise software.

E Finance is also focused on telecommunications but is a gold sponsor, along with Al Motahida education group’s digital marketing solutions and Infase ME which was involved in enterprise while the Smart Villages Company is presenting smart zone solutions.
