Apple Watch officially hits UAE on 22 October
Cupertino quietly updates information on UAE online store, posts prices and configurations
The Apple Watch will be available through official channels in the UAE from 22 October, according to the company's website.
Over the weekend, Apple quietly updated the Watch page on its UAE website, placing text at the top that says, "Available 22.10."
Apple has also updated the website to include configurations and pricing. The range starts with the 38mm Apple Watch Sport with a Sport Band, which will go for AED 1,399. The 42mm Apple Watch Sport, meanwhile, goes for AED 1,599 with a White Sport Band.
The mid-range Apple Watch will start at AED 2,199 for the 38mm version with a Sport Band, and 42mm versions with a Sport Band go for AED 2,399. Moving up the range, a 42mm Watch with Classic Buckle will go for AED 2,799. Prices increase with more complicated bands such as the Leather Loop and the Milanese Loop. The most expensive version in the Apple Watch range is the 42mm version with a Space Black case and Space Black Link Bracelet, which will go for AED 4,399.
However, that's nothing to the price of the solid gold Apple Watch Edition, which starts at AED 37,000 for the 38mm version with Sport Band. The most expensive Edition is the 42mm version with Midnight Blue Classic Buckle - that will cost AED 56,000.
The gold Edition watches aside, the UAE appears to be getting a good deal on the Apple Watch. Prices in the UK, for example, are significantly higher - due to currency issues - and even the American versions come out a little more expensive.
The Apple Watch has been available in the UAE for some time now, but only through grey-market retailers. It was previously rumoured that Apple was waiting for the launch of its new Dubai-based store to launch the Apple Watch, however the company has not made any announcement regarding this.
