Quantum unveils Titano smartphone array in MEA

Mobile devices brand Quantum, has launched the long-awaited Titano smartphone and feature phones in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) market.

According to the OEM manufacturer of tablets, smartphones and 2-in-1 notebook PCs, the launch of its smartphone and feature phones follows months of market research and work behind the scenes to identify the correct gaps in the market that will be filled with its phone range.

The move to launch the new phone range follows Quantum's recent deal with Beltron Green Energy Telecom Limited, which saw the Dubai-based brand enter the Indian market.

Quantum said the plan to introduce the Titano range of smartphones and feature phones, comes at a time when the company has continued to witness phenomenal growth in sales of its tablets in MEA.

Tamer Ismail, vice president, Quantum Global, said the launch of the new smartphone array is a game change for the company as it moves to take its business to the next level in the MEA consumer electronics and mobile devices market.

Ismail said the stage is set for Quantum to amaze the market again and break new frontiers. "The launch of the phones will open new doors for the company to engage with retailers, resellers, e-tailers and the telecoms retail segment. We have worked tirelessly to reach this moment and through this launch, Quantum is ready to now break new boundaries," he said.


Ismail added that the company has taken time to complement its tablet business because it wanted to identify the right gaps in the market, where Quantum would fit in with the Titano portfolio. "It is all systems go and we have put in place all the mechanisms to support our partners once the products hit the market," he said. "With the launch of the Titano range of phones, we will be working with retailers, retailers, independent high street retailers, resellers and e-tailers."

He added that an important aspect and market for Quantum is how it can break into the telecoms and service provider market with some of the smartphone models. "We believe that the service provider market is an important segment for us and we harbour plans to grow our business in this sector," he said. "We have quality products we believe will add value to service providers and the end user customers."

Ismail explained that the company has initially introduced in the market the Titano H1, Titano H2, Titano F16 and Titano AK47, with the Titano 007 and Titano M61 to follow later.

Ismail said the feature phones will start from AED39 to AED99, while smartphones will range from AED149 for the entry level device to AED1,999 for the top of the range handset. "We are going flat out with our retail partners with launch promotions in the lead up to GITEX Shopper autumn edition," he enthused. "We are expecting a positive response from the MEA market where our tablet range has continued to do well."

Ismail recapped that Quantum will work with all power retailers, independent high street retailers, e-tailers and traditional resellers to ensure the products are readily available to consumers across MEA.

He added that aside from launching the new phone array, Quantum has also started the process of recruiting retail partners in specific markets in the GCC, Levant, East, West and Southern Africa. "We are looking at appointing distributors and Quantum Authorised Service Provider (QASP) partners," he said. "Through QASP partners, we will be able to provide comprehensive post-sales support to end users on behalf of channel partners."

Ismail reiterated that the company is upbeat that the launch of the new handsets will boost Quantum's business in the mobile devices space in MEA and beyond.
