Titano smartphone range to ship next month
Dubai-based Quantum unveils six models in the lead up to GITEX Shopper 2015 Autumn edition
Dubai-based Quantum Global, the local OEM brand that makes mobile devices and 2-in-1 notebook PCs, has said all is set for the launch of the Titano smartphone and feature portfolio in the Middle East and Africa this month.
The move to launch the new phone range follows the Quantum's recent deal with Beltron Green Energy Telecom Limited, which saw it enter the Indian market.
According to Quantum, the plan to introduce the Titano smartphone and feature phone array, comes at a time when the company has continued to witness phenomenal growth in sales of its tablets in MEA.
Speaking to Channel Middle East in an exclusive interview, Quantum Global vice president Tamer Ismail, said the launch of the new smartphone range is a game changer for the company as it moves to take its business to the next level.
Ismail said the stage is set for Quantum to break new frontiers and the launch of the phones will open new doors for the company to engage with retailers, resellers, e-tailers and the telecoms retail segment. "We have worked tirelessly to reach this moment and through this launch, Quantum is ready to now break new boundaries," he said.
Ismail said the company has taken time to complement the tablet business because it wanted to identify the right gaps in the market, where Quantum would fit in with the Titano portfolio. "It is all systems go and we have put in place all the mechanisms to support our partners once the products hit the market," he said. "With the launch of the Titano range of phones, we will be working with retailers, resellers and e-tailers."
He added that an important aspect and market for Quant is how it can break into the telecoms and service provider market with some of the smartphone models. "We believe that the service provider market is an important segment for us and we harbour plans to grow our business in this sector," he said.
Ismail pointed out that the complete array will include the Titano 007, Titano H1, Titano H2, Titano F16, Titano AK47 and Titano M61.
Ismail said the feature phones will start from AED39 to AED99, while smartphones will range from AED149 for the entry level to AED1,999 for the top of the range handset.
Ismail added that Quantum will work with all power retailers, independent high street retailers, e-tailers and traditional resellers to ensure the products are readily available to consumers across MEA.
Ismail pointed out that aside from launching the new phone array, Quantum has also started the process on recruiting retail partners in specific markets in the GCC, Levant, East, West and Southern Africa. "We are looking at appointing distributors and Quantum Authorised Service Provider (QASP) partners," he said. "Through QASP partners, we will be able to provide comprehensive post-sales support to end users on behalf of channel partners."
Ismail said the launch will boost Quantum's business in the mobile devices space.
