Microsoft Dynamics CRM now available on mobile
Redmond releases CRM app for phones and tablets running Windows, iOS and Android
Microsoft has made its Dynamics CRM available as an app for tablets and phones on the Windows Store, as well as the app stores of Apple and Android.
In an announcement, Redmond said that the move was aimed at enhancing collaboration for Dynamics CRM customers, and upping the productivity of their staff.
Dynamics CRM users can now access CRM data on their Windows, Android and iOS tablets and phones through apps or through browsers on their devices. Microsoft said that it expects enterprises and government departments to leverage the apps as they pursue mobility strategies for their staff.
"At Microsoft Dynamics, our vision is to help our customers deliver the kinds of amazing customer experiences that will help their business thrive. We believe that there has traditionally been a chasm between marketing and sales that needs to be bridged in order to truly deliver personalized, end-to-end experiences that customers will love," said Karim Talhouk, Microsoft Business Solutions lead, Microsoft Gulf.
"In a world where sellers and marketers must work more closely together to seamlessly and successfully engage customers, Microsoft is providing the solutions that can enable them to deliver amazing customer experiences together. By making Dynamics CRM available for Windows phones and tablets, as well as Android and iOS, companies will be able to drive greater success and engagement with their customers. This is part of Microsoft's ongoing efforts to enhance mobility to allow organisations and individuals to do more and achieve more."
With the app, users are able to access Microsoft Dynamics CRM data from tablet devices in different ways. Apps for Windows 8, Apple iPad, and Android tablets are available to run Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015. Alternatively, the CRM can be accessed using the device's preferred browser for compatible devices.
However, only the tablet version can connect to both Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online organisations and Microsoft Dynamics CRM on-premises deployments, providing a hybrid infrastructure for users. And using CRM for tablets requires the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 Online or later versions.
