Acer unveils 2015 notebook line-up in Middle East
Taiwanese vendor launches premium, mid-range, budget Aspire models
Acer today introduced its new Aspire notebook lines, including the premium-end V15, the performance-oriented E series and the budget ES range.
Acer said all the notebooks were Windows 10-ready.
The Aspire V15 comes with an aluminium top cover imprinted using Acer's proprietary nano-imprint technology for a "luxurious and uniquely textured metallic finish".
"A silver metallic hinge provides a stylish contrast, leaving a visual impression inherited from the award-winning Aspire V Nitro," Acer said of its V15.
The V15 is powered by fifth-generation Intel Core processors and the latest NVIDIA GeForce 940M-series graphics chips. It comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 2TB of hard drive storage or a 1TB solid-state hybrid drive (SSHD). The Aspire E series notebooks come in a variety of colour options with 14-inch, 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch displays. They feature a textile-pattern on the cover and underside, machined using a new technique involving 3D scanning of fabric samples, which are then replicated into moulds with 3D printing technology and finished with a laser engraving process.
The E series also uses the latest Intel processors; NVIDIA GeForce 940M series graphics with dedicated DDR3 VRAM or AMD Radeon R8 and R6 dual graphics; up to 16GB RAM; and 2TB HDD/ 1TB SSHD storage options.
The ES series is a budget range and comes in five screen-size options, from 11.6-inch to 17.3-inch. They use Intel Pentium/Celeron processors, and come with up to 8GB RAM, 1TB of hard drive storage and an optional DVD-RW drive.
All of the notebooks released today include BluelightShield, a technology designed to lessen eye strain by reducing blue-light emissions from the screen.
The Acer Aspire V15 will be available in the region from August, with a starting price of $680; the Aspire ES series will be available in July, starting from $245; and the E series will be available this month, with a starting price of $435.
