Gulf Air secures network with HP TippingPoint IPS

Gulf Air has rolled out HP's TippingPoint IPS to protect its IT infrastructure.

Gulf Air has deployed HP's TippingPoint next generation of Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) to protect its IT infrastructure.

The TippingPoint IPS will block malicious inbound and outbound traffic and ensure that the airline's data is secured.

Maher Salman Al Musallam, Gulf Air acting chief executive officer, said: "Gulf Air is committed to partnering with technology leaders to ensure the highest level of information technology security for its passengers and workforce. This agreement will ensure that Gulf Air customers' information is secure while maintaining an efficient and easy-to-use service that facilitates all their travel requirements."

Dr Jassim Haji, Gulf Air director of Information Technology, added: "With HP TippingPoint Next-Generation IPS, Gulf Air is proactively securing and blocking malicious inbound and outbound traffic. Gulf Air is one of few regional airlines to hold the global ISO certification for its information security management system and was the first airline in the region to be certified with Information Technology ISO certifications in the three areas of Quality Management, Service Management and Information Security Management Systems.
