Apple Watch hits another UAE online retailer, prices begin to drop
The Watch is not yet available through Apple's official channels in the UAE

Arush.ae is the latest major online retailer in the UAE to offer the Apple Watch, which is now available from the site starting from AED 1,899.

That entry-level price will only get buyers a 38mm Apple Watch Sport with a white, blue, or green band. The larger, 42mm Sport models start at AED 2,899. The most expensive in Arush's Sport range is the 38mm version with a black band, which comes in at AED 3,299.

The website also has the more expensive Apple Watch, with a stainless steel case, available for AED 3,999. That model comes with the Milanese Loop band, according to the site.

The Watch is not yet available through Apple's official channels in the UAE. Until it is released officially, consumers have to make do with grey-market offerings, at inflated prices

Brick-and-mortar retailers in the UAE have largely distanced themselves from the practice of importing grey-market Apple Watches.

Arush's prices are more in line with Apple's official pricing policies than some other retailers'. Officially, prices start at $349 (AED 1,282) for the 38mm Apple Watch Sport, so Arush is still charging a considerable mark-up on those models. However, Arush's stainless steel Watch with Milanese Loop is almost perfectly in line with Apple's prices - the most expensive stainless steel Watch, with Link Bracelet, is supposed to retail for $1,099 (AED 4,037).

Late last month, Dubai-based online retailer JadoPado began offering the Watch with over 200% mark-ups. The company's CEO, Omar Kassim, defended the pricing of these models, though he admitted that the charges were above what he was expecting.
