DISTREE Middle East to debut Diamond Awards
Diamond Awards launch at Middle East event follows successful launch in Europe in February
DISTREE Events the organiser of DISTREE Middle East event, an ICT and consumer electronics trade fair, has launched a new series of exhibitor awards in 2015.
The DISTREE Diamond Awards series will be unveiled at a Gala Dinner in Abu Dhabi on May 13th, forming part of the 11th annual DISTREE Middle East. The recipients of DISTREE Diamond Awards will be determined using on-site live voting from retailers and e-tailers participating in the event.
Farouk Hemraj, director and co-founder, DISTREE Events, said: "DISTREE events feature hundreds of great technology and consumer electronics brands with innovative products and go-to-market strategies that appeal to participating channel partners. The DISTREE Diamond Awards enable channel partners to reward the vendors and brands that impress them most by product category."
During the course of the event, attending retailers will have the chance to assess all exhibitors on a range of factors including product portfolio, product roadmap, channel programme, business potential, go-to-market strategy and the quality of meetings and interaction.
Hemraj added: "We're hugely excited to roll out the DISTREE Diamond Awards to the Middle East after the successful launch in Europe in February. These awards serve as recognition for companies that offer a compelling channel proposition."
The DISTREE Diamond Awards ceremony will form part of the DISTREE Middle East Gala Dinner, which takes place on May 13th. The Gala Dinner will also host the ‘Middle East Retail Academy (MERA): 2015 Awards' recognising channel excellence in distribution and retail across the region.
The ‘MERA: 2015 Awards' will include eleven retailer of the year awards. The nominations for each category will be determined using continuous channel feedback from the last 12 months. During the gala dinner, vendors and distributors will vote live to select the overall winners in all the 11 retailer categories for 2015, while retailers and e-tailers will vote live to select the overall winner in each of the four distributor categories.
In addition, DISTREE said all vendors, distributors and retailers operating in the Middle East also have the opportunity to submit an entry for four submission-based awards. Companies can submit their entry packs online with a closing deadline of Sunday May 3rd 2015. All entries will be evaluated by a VIP Jury of independent channel experts. The four categories are In-Store Experience of the Year, Customer Promotion of the Year, Product Launch of the Year and Marketing Initiative of the Year
The company added that the MERA 2015 Awards will also include a series of individual awards for vendor, distributor and retailer executives that have excelled during the last 12 months.
DISTREE Events said during the next few weeks, companies will be invited to nominate individuals for these awards, which will be evaluated by the VIP Jury to create a shortlist of candidates for each category, prior to an online poll to determine the overall winners. There will be 18 individual award categories for the MERA 2015 Awards, DISTREE stated.
"DISTREE Middle East is a truly regional event reserved for the most senior executives working in the technology and consumer electronics retail channel, and this year's awards reflect that," added Hemraj. "There is a wealth of business talent in the region and the awards processes set out to identify and recognise channel excellence."
