Dubai photographers featured in Apple's World Gallery campaign
Campaign designed to showcase the quality of the iPhone 6 camera
Two Dubai-based photographers have been featured in Apple's newly launched World Gallery advertising campaign, which aims to showcase the quality of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus cameras.
As a result of being featured in the gallery, at least one of the photographers, Hattan Ahmad, will have his work will featured on billboards around the world, in cities such as New York, Berlin and Tokyo, among others. The image was taken at the Dubai International Financial Centre, and depicts a man crossing a shadowy walkway.
Apple's World Gallery, launched this week, is available to view online and consists solely of images taken with iPhone 6 cameras. The online gallery provides tips for budding photographers under each image.
The images will also form the basis for large-scale outdoor advertising campaigns, for which they will appear on billboards in more than 20 countries around the world.
In Dubai, a large-format advertisement has already been placed on the side of a Sheikh Zayed Road building. That image, of a child playing in water, is taken from a Bali, Indonesia-based photographer identified as Silke W.
Another Dubai-based photographer, identified only as David K., was featured in the online gallery. That image shows a panoramic view of Downtown Dubai, with the Burj Khalifa at the centre.
The images featured in the campaign were non-commissioned images that the company found online. Its employees combed through tens of thousands of existing photos to find the 77 pictures that are currently featured in the gallery.
