Storage solutions vendors allays online reports
Storage solutions vendor Seagate Middle East, has clarified online reports that suggested it had signed a distribution deal with Global Distribution to distribute its complete array of products in the region.
The vendor did confirm that it had signed a distribution agreement with Global Distribution FZE but only for its value range of products for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) market.
Christian Assaf, senior sales manager, META at Seagate, said the company can confirm that it has signed a distribution deal with Global, which will see the regional VAD supply Seagate's high value product array to channel partners in MEA.
Seagate currently has three distributorsin in the region namely Asbis Middle East, FDC International and Almasa IT Distribution that provide its portfolio of hard disk drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), hybrid drives, as well as retail storage products for consumers and small businesses.
As a VAD, Global distribution has spent the last 12 months building a comprehensive high-end storage stack and having Seagate on board will complement the company's flash storage push in the Middle East and North market.
