Global Distribution readies I-onik launch in Middle East
Distributor to unveil its private label brand of tablets, smart and feature phones in the region
Regional VAD, Global Distribution FZE has revealed that everything is on track for the much anticipated launch of its I-onik range of tablets, smart and features phones in the Middle East.
The move to launch the I-onik range of products, follows the company's success in introducing these products in India, Europe and the Americas.
According to Global Distribution, it has seen overwhelming response to its I-onik range of products in all the geographies where the products have been unveiled.
Parvez Ahmed, executive director, Global Distribution FZE, said all is set for I-onik's launch in mid February. Ahmed added that the company has adopted a two-pronged approach to how it will work with channel partners in the region. "We will work with all power retailers and independent high street retailer across the region," he said. "This is vital because the two channels are different and so too are their needs."
Ahmed said the initial focus for the company will be to market the I-onik range as a trusted and reliable Germany engineered brand in the region. "We will be doing targeted marketing campaigns aimed at demand generation and brand awareness," he said.
He pointed out that although the I-onik brand is only being launched in the Middle East now, it's an established brand in Europe for the past several years.
Ahmed explained that the I-onik range of products have been well received in India, Latin America and Africa, and the company is hoping to replicate that success in the Middle East.
Mubeen Ghawte, business unit maanger, I-onik at Global Distribution, said the company is launching three smartphone models, one feature phone and two tablet arrays. "We are delighted to be introducing the I-onik range of devices in the Middle East retail market," he said. "Our focus will be on brand awareness and product marketing. We look forward to working with the organised power retail sector, as well as small independent retails."
Global Distribution already distributes Apple, Samsung, Alcatel, ZTE and HTC mobile devices in the Middle East.
