UAE mGovernment hosts readiness workshops
TRA’s smart government department holds update sessions for federal departments
The UAE's ICT watchdog, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), today announced it recently ran workshops to update federal departments on the progress of the nation's eGovernment and mGovernment initiatives.
The TRA was represented by the mGovernment Initiative and hosted the workshops last week in collaboration with the Office of the Presidency of the Council of Ministries. The sessions took place at the ICT regulator's Dubai and Abu Dhabi headquarters on Sunday 16 November and Monday 17 November and included the official announcement of the eGovernment and mGovernment Readiness Index.
The mGovernment Readiness Index is a measure of the transformation rate of federal government services, the use of eGovernment and mGovernment services, and the rate of customer satisfaction, public awareness and familiarity with the services.
"These workshops are a vital platform as we commence on the journey to completely transforming into a smart government by May 2015," said HE Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, director general, UAE mGovernment.
"We would like to tribute all the federal entities for their hard work and dedication, which was made apparent through the outstanding showcase of eGovernment and mGovernment services. This has been an imperative component, directly impacting the vision of turning the smart government initiative into a concrete reality, allowing us to positively reflect on customer happiness with regards to impacting their daily routines."
