Telco Exec offering free mentoring for regional ICT execs
Online mentoring community connects senior industry mentors with Telco Exec members for career advice
Online mentoring community Telco Exec has announced that it will offer free, personalised career mentoring services for executives looking to move into, or who are already working in, the Middle East technology and telecoms sector.
Senior mentors in Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the UAE are available to Telco Exec's 3,000-plus international network of members, including those members in the Middle East.
More than 3,000 mid to senior level job professionals have already joined the Telco Exec community. Senior mentors provide time for career mentoring of other members for free, while members are also able to access other career-related services for a small fee.
Telco Exec (www.telcoexec.com) focuses on connecting its members with career and business opportunities, and has already signed its first 40 mentors including ex-EMI CTO Simon Hollins, Motorola Solutions' Director of Global Services, Randhir Kalsi and serial telecoms CEO, Ms Ineke Botter.
Telco Exec's Managing Director, Jason Bandy, explains: "The Middle East technology and telecoms market is very active, especially the UAE, and attractive for professionals looking to build careers. The World Economic Forum ranks the UAE very highly for its capacity to attract and retain international talent. The LinkedIn Talent Trends Survey 2014 generally highlights the unusually high levels of active and approachable candidates, in the UAE. This is set against a strong regional economy and growing IT investment.
"Our senior level mentors come from within our community. They're all senior executives who want to share their experiences and wisdom with others in the community. They offer their time for free, this means we can provide this service for a fraction of its true cost. We expect to reach our next milestone, 200 mentors, very shortly, and are actively seeking more executives to participate."
Telco Exec members receive three hours of free telephone mentoring a year, and then pay a small booking fee for any additional hours. Membership also includes professional branding opportunities, a CV critique and personal job-seeking support.
"Telco Exec is a collaborative community where members share their knowledge, introduce contacts and help each other. Many of our mentors have already shared their experiences through our executive articles, and this is our natural next step," Bandy said.
