Companies held at joint conference in Dubai to discuss plans for UAE
IT consultancy practice DUC Consulting International, partnered with Cloudbuy, a cloud eCommerce marketplace to host a conference on ‘Smart e-Commerce Solutions for Public and Private Sectors' today at the British Embassy Dubai.
The event served as a venue for industry experts and C-level executives in the UAE public sector to meet and discuss current trends and issues surrounding e-Commerce in the GCC region and cloud technology's impact on this sector.
Speaking to ITP.net about the partnership, Dr Usman Zafar, CEO, DUC Consulting International said: "We believe that Cloudbuy will play an extremely important role in developing the economy of the UAE further. We have started tying up local government departments here and we are trying to build one of the largest B2B market place in the region. We are also keen to build an eMarket place for the education industry in the region starting with the UAE where we have been doing business for many years."
DUC signed up with the transactional cloud platform four months ago and according to Zafar, the company will announce its three major sign ups in the region before the end of the year.
"Technology has played a significant part in supporting UAE's economic growth. Latest data suggests that the e-Commerce industry in the UAE alone will stand at USD10 billion by the end of 2018. We believe cloudBuy technology's proven track record in the global e-Commerce scene will add value to organisations and companies in this part of the region." Zafar added.
Ronald Duncan, Chairman of cloudBuy said that its partnership with DUC Consulting International will see the development of one of the largest eMarketplaces in the Middle East. "We are extremely impressed with DUC Consulting International for getting key public sector accounts on board. The first project is under deployment phase and will be announced soon."
