Papaeracleous says the alliance is evidence of Logicom's efforts to expand operations into verticals.

Logicom, a regional VAD of IT solutions and services, has signed an agreement with Autodesk, as the official distributor for the vendor's products in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq and Pakistan.

Under the accord, which is effective 1st November, Logicom will distribute Autodesk product lines including AutoCAD, Base, ID&V, Media and Entertainment, Simulation, Civil Infrastructure, Process and Power, Building, Product Design and Manufacturing, Education and Advanced MEP.

Michael Papaeracleous, director, Distribution at Logicom, said: "This agreement is solid evidence of our efforts for expanding Logicom's operations into verticals, a goal we have been passionately working towards for some time now. The Autodesk name requires no introduction and we are delighted to be associated with a software provider of such impact in all the verticals it covers. Our intention is to complement our existing offerings across our wide partner network with great products and, in turn, add value to their business. Our collaboration with Autodesk is about just that."

Louay Dahmash, Head Autodesk, Middle East added: "There is a growing recognition of the role design technology can play in making economies competitive as we see impressive demand for Autodesk design suites in the region. The appointment of Logicom will enhance Autodesk's presence in key markets of the Middle East region and help serve our customers with better access to our products portfolio."
