Retail complex developer iMall has seen strong interest at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2014 in the upcoming opening of its brick-and-mortar tech-themed shopping centre.

“We wanted to get a new concept into this market,” says Mounir Lutfy, director, Bustan Group, proprietor of iMall.

“We wanted to bring all the IT businesses under one umbrella. If you want to get a phone, if you want to get a laptop, anything to do with IT, you can visit one destination and find everything there,” he adds.

Lutfy is hopeful for a May 2015 launch and confident that the project’s presence at GITEX will garner further interest. iMall has already signed an anchor tenant, although this has not been disclosed yet. iMall is also encouraging smaller retailers in the UAE, to sign up for tenancy.

iMall is also planning a Web portal to complement the brick-and-mortar venture.
