Chinese telecoms vendor shows Agile Network solutions
Chinese telecoms infrastructure and solutions specialist, Huawei, has presented its new Agile Network solutions, during GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2014, to power local business and governments in the Middle East region.
Liu Shao Wei, President of IP Solutions at Huawei Enterprise; Mark Wu, CTO of IP Solutions at Huawei and Paul Black, Director of Telecoms and Media for Middle East Turkey and Africa at IDC, jointly presented the launch.
The ‘Third Platform’ of computing includes tech such as cloud services, mobility, social business and big data analytics, which are set to dominate IT industry growth over the next ten years, according to IDC. During the presentation, Black gave IDC’s insights on the global spending on Third Platform technologies, which is forecasted to rise by 15% in 2014, accounting approximately 20% of all IT spending this year.
“Organisations in the region need to adopt flexible and innovative solutions to stay ahead of the competition, which is why they need to look at creating a more agile approach to their business and network infrastructure,” Black says.
When presenting the new Agile solution, Shao Wei, said: “An Agile Network can improve your innovation and productivity, as you can deliver a faster response to your customer and manage the system from a central platform.”
The controller allows users to adjust network-wide rights that relate to security and quality of service policies. Aside from centralised control, the Agile Controller allows single-point protection to be transferred to network-wide protection.
