GME shifts focus from memory offerings at GITEX

Peripherals and accessories distributor GME Distribution is using GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK to promote the new vendor brands it signed up recently. The distributor says that, this year, it has decided to promote its range of third-party accessories and peripheral products.

Houyem Zid, Sales and Purchasing Manager at GME, says the company is particularly paying attention to the range of offerings from vendor partners  such as Odoyo, Momax and PhotoFast.

Zid says that, as the company is diversifying its business away from memory offering, it is crucial that it gets feedback from channel partners and customers on the new brands it has brought on board. “In the previous editions of GITEX, we used to concentrate so much on our memory range of products,” she remarks. “We have reduced our memory offerings and are now looking at growing the accessory business.”

Zid says the company has gone flat-out to promote its accessory range and peripheral products. “We have received tremendous feedback from our accessory range targeted at the iPhone 6 handset,” she says.
