Hitachi shows high-end projectors at GITEX
Headline model is CP-WU13K Professional Projector
Hitachi is showing off a range of high-end and smart projectors at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.
Headlining the high-end range at the Hitachi stand is the CP-WU13K Professional Projector, which is the vendor’s brightest-ever model, aimed at the demanding professional audio-visual market. The device is 3D-ready, and the dual-lamp system achieves images with a brightness of 13,000lm. And in low-light environments, high image quality can still be achieved with a brightness as low as 5,000lm, which will help to extend lamp life.
Axel Kutschke, Head of B2B Business, Digital Media Group, Hitachi, says that, while Hitachi’s core business has traditionally been in projectors for education, the WU13K model comes as the vendor attempts to penetrate further into the high end of the market.
“Education is the sector where we come from, where we are strong, where we built our reputation. But we have a high-end range, and we are developing this continuously. We’re only showing two new products at the moment, but we have a wide range,” he says.
“We have the 8,000 family, we have the 9,000 family, and we have the 13K. This makes something like 12 high-end products, and we will maintain and enhance this range in the future,” he adds.
Hitachi is still developing products for the education segment, and is showing a number of these at its stand. One is a smart projector with multi-touch functionality. Another is the vendor’s new 65-inch Interactive Flat Panel, which Kutschke says will cater to the changing demands of the education sector.
