AOC uses GITEX to enter mobile arena
Display panels manufacturer displays newly launched phablets, tablets, smartphones
Display panels manufacturer AOC says it is at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2014 to promote the company’s newly launched phablets, tablets and smartphones.
The vendor says it has returned to GITEX to highlight the new products, which will launch in the first quarter of 2015. In addition, AOC says it is also promoting its B2B and B2C monitor array that has been engineered with NVIDIA G-Sync technology.
Stefan Sommer, Director, Marketing & Business Management EMEA at Philips, says although the company is a bit late to enter the mobile devices market, there is still growth in this segment especially in emerging markets like the Middle East and Africa. “Throughout this week, we are exhibiting our phablets, tablets and smartphone range,” he says.
Sommer says the company has a full line up of mobile devices and will use its strengths in the monitor space to promote its new offerings. “We may be late in entering the mobile devices market, but we have the depth, breadth and strength to develop our mobile devices business,” he says. “We will leverage AOC’s strengths in the displays space to promote our mobile offerings in the Middle East.
Sommer adds that the new range of phablets, smartphones and tablets are slated for official launch in the Middle East region in either January or February next year.
“Being at GITEX gives AOC the opportunity to get the attention from channel partners and customers and their impression about our products. We have entered this market segment with a long-term view to growing the portfolio in the Middle East,” he says.
