Huawei shows strengths at GITEX
Chinese solutions specialist focuses on smart cities, agile networks
Huawei has three main areas of focus for this year›s GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK, according to Dong Wu, President of Huawei, Enterprise Business in the Middle East. The company is showing its expertise in Smart Cities, agile networks and end-to-end data centres, key areas of focus in the Middle East at present.
The company is showing solutions for smart cities, not just concepts, Dong Wu points out, as Huawei is already working with a number of government entities both in the region and worldwide on smart initiatives. The company is able to offer the full range of data centre solutions, across components such as UPS, cooling and infrastructure, active components including switches and routers, and software for data centre management. Also in the data centre space, the company is launching a new storage solution at GITEX, which is specifically designed to cater to big data requirements.
“We have launched our flagship product this year, called Oceanstor9000; it is designed for big data applications,” Wu says. “Our solution combines all the functions [storage, archiving and analysis] together in one. It also has world-leading performance; it is three times higher than the second vendor in terms of performance.”
