Grandweld Shipyards will roll out the IFS solution to help it manage growth.

Grandweld Shipyards, a fully integrated shipyard providing ship building, ship repair and engineering solutions has selected IFS Applications integrated application suite to improve its operations.

The Dubai-based shipyard will implement IFS Applications to create a single information system encompassing project-based manufacturing, project management, asset management, work order, scheduling, and document management, among others.

Ahmad Abki, Operations and Development Manager at Grandweld Shipyards, said. "Grandweld Shipyards has been growing very rapidly over the past decade. A fully integrated information and resource management system will cater to our growth, while maintaining a high degree of operational efficiency and quality of our products and services. IFS Applications will provide real-time visibility on the performance of operational processes, projects and the over-all business enabling us to further improve the quality of service to our clients."

The initial phase of implementation will begin in September 2014 in the new headquarters in Dubai Maritime City and is expected to be completed by April 2015.

"Implementing IFS Applications will provide a platform for future expansion to multiple work sites including the company's operations in Al Jaddaf," continued Abki.

"Investing in an integrated ERP system, Grandweld Shipyards will be better able to focus on its core business whilst improving productivity and the quality of service to clients," said Ian Fleming, managing director, IFS Middle East, Africa and South Asia. "We look forward to partnering with Grandweld Shipyards to help the team improve core processes and achieve business goals."
