CommVault today announced updated functionality for its Simpana cloud solutions range.

Additional Simpana Solution Sets support "mobile productivity and improved self-service access", according to CommVault.

"The Simpana Solution Sets help customers lower cost and reduce risk with enhanced data and information management for all leading cloud, hypervisor and storage platforms," the company said in a statement. 

CommVault has also added capabilities for Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure that include cloud reporting as well as end-user self-service provisioning, recovery, software snapshots and virtual machine resource management.

"CommVault recognised the trend toward cloud computing very early on and has made significant investments in cloud computing over the past seven years, said CommVault CEO Bob Hammer.
