The Galaxy Tab S will be available across all major retail outlets in the UAE in two sizes and connectivity options. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 WiFi and LTE models retail at AED1,699 and AED2,099, respectively; and the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 WiFi and LTE models retail at AED2,099 and AED2,599, respectively.

"For customers looking for the ideal device to consume content on the go, the Galaxy Tab S delivers industry leading features that bring content to life, thanks to its true colour and astonishing detail," said Denzil D'Souza, business head, Mobility Sales Group, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

"An impressive visual and entertainment experience is complimented by an ultra-light weight and stylist design. Combined with long battery life, multi-tasking capabilities and the ability to receive voice calls, the Tab S is the perfect device for both work and leisure purposes. A true gem in today's fast paced environment."

Samsung is strongly emphasising colour range and image sharpness on the latest Galaxy Tab S range. The WQXGA (2560x1600, 16:10) Super AMOLED displays deliver "more than 90% of Adobe RGB colour coverage" and have a 100,000:1 contrast ratio, which "provides deeper and more realistic images by making blacks darker and whites brighter", according to Samsung.

The Galaxy Tab S also features additional Samsung screen technologies that "go beyond the hardware specifications". The tablet's Adaptive Display automatically adjusts gamma, saturation, and sharpness based on the application being viewed, the colour temperature of the viewing environment and ambient lighting. Pre-set professional modes - AMOLED Cinema and AMOLED Photo - also let users manually adjust the display settings for both video and photo content. The display enhancements also cover operation in bright sunlight.

Samsung also stressed the decreased energy consumption from its Super AMOLED technology, which does not require a backlight. Both models have a 6.6mm profile and the Wi-Fi-only models weigh 465g (10.5-inch) and 294g (8.4-inch).

On the accessories front, the Book Cover configures to three different display angles and the Simple Cover that offers a more tightly fitting, lightweight protection. The Bluetooth Keyboard is an ergonomically designed ultra-slim keyboard designed specifically for the Galaxy Tab S, which pairs the device with the keyboard through a clasp, giving the combined device the appearance of a laptop.

Users can make and receive calls directly from their phone to their Galaxy Tab S, anywhere at home, no matter where their phone is with the Call Forwarding feature via SideSync 3.0. With Quick Connect, the tablets automatically find and connect to nearby devices, for content sharing. These features are all available on both WiFi and LTE versions.

Additional features include a Multi User Mode that enables users to create their own personal optimised profile; a built-in fingerprint scanner; and a specially designed Kids' Mode with its own dedicated interface.
